Amaraissance

This original amaro cocktail is a celebration of the renaissance of bitter liqueurs. To create this classic yet complex drink, you'll need: - 1 1/2 oz Averna Amaro - 1 oz bourbon - 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice - 1/2 oz honey syrup (made by mixing equal parts honey and hot water until dissolved) - 2 dashes orange bitters - Lemon peel, for garnish To make the cocktail, combine all ingredients except the lemon peel in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Express the oils from the lemon peel over the drink and discard.
